OREM, UTAH -- The NC State volleyball team is set to open the season out west at the Utah Valley Invitational on Friday Aug. 25. The Pack will face host Utah Valley on both Friday and Saturday, before facing Pac 12 opponent Utah.

The Match Up
- The meeting with Wolverines will be the second in program history and first since 2018
- UVU topped the Pack 3-2 in Raleigh
- The last time the Pack had a meeting with the Utes was 24 years ago in Lubbock, Texas
- Utah defeated NC State, 3-1 in 1999
Nearing 50
- Head coach Luka Slabe has started the countdown to 50 career wins as a head coach
- Entering the 2023 season, he sits at a 40-35 record overall, with 27 wins over ACC opponents
- He would be only the sixth coach in program history to hit the 50 win mark
Bigger Than the Game
- Senior setter Skye Stokes lost her father in May 2023
- When she was young, he started a club program for her to be able to participate in
- Volleyball has always been important for the two and she has her favorite picture of them tattooed on her outer left calf
- She continues her volleyball career for him and reminds herself daily that it is much "bigger than the game" these days
Healy & The Canadian National Team
- The freshman from San Rafael, Calif. earned a spot on the U19 Canadian National team to compete at the NORCECA Continental Championship in Puerto Rico in May
- Her team fell to fifth place finisher the Dominican Republic and she recorded 11 kills and one block in the match
- She later participated in the U19 World Championships in early August, she averaged 7.25 kills per match
2023 Roster
- The Pack returned 10 from 2022, including six starters
- Staff was hard at work this off season as they signed seven -- two transfers and five freshman
- Junior libero Skye Stokes joined the Pack in January after two seasons at West Virginia where she led the Mountaineers with 31 aces last season
- Slabe and staff brought in a powerful freshman class and the second largest under his leadership
- The staff added Mitchel Worthington to the staff in early August -- the former BYU libero played five seasons for the Cougars and was named to the 2023 MPSF All-Academic Team
The One Percent
- The One Percent was picked as the 'statement' for the 2023 season
- The opportunity to play any sport at this level is a dream to many, but not something that everyone can achieve
- This statement is to remind each member of Pack Volleyball how far they have come and where they want to go
