Five Track & Field Athletes Set to Compete in US Outdoor National Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. - Five NC State track and field athletes are set to represent the Wolfpack at the US Outdoor National Championships, taking place Thursday, July 31st through Sunday, August 3rd at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Sam Bush will race in the 1500m. During the 2024 outdoor season, she recorded a personal best of 4:07.43 during the NCAA Championships prelims. That time ranks third all-time in NC State history.
Angelina Napoleon is slated to compete in the 3000m steeplechase. She opened the 2025 outdoor season with a 9:34.22 in the 3000m steeplechase to win the Raleigh Relays. Her performance ranked No. 1 in the NCAA at the time and broke records for the Raleigh Relays meet, Paul Derr Track facility and the NC State program.
Patrick Tuohy will line up in the 800m after a personal best 1:46.60 at the 2025 NCAA East Regional, where he placed 11th. His time not only qualified him for the NCAA Championships but also made him the fastest 800m runner in school history.
Xavier Branker is set to run the 400m hurdles. In a historic performance at the 2025 ACC Championships, Branker shattered a 45-year-old program record with a time of 49.69, finishing second and earning First-Team All-ACC honors.
Charles McBride will represent the Wolfpack in the high jump. During the 24-25 indoor season, he posted a season-best 2.19m in the high jump to win the Bob Pollock Invitational, placing him seventh on NC State's all-time top-10 list.
Fans can catch live coverage of the US Outdoor National Championships across multiple platforms. All times are Eastern Standard Time:
- NBC will broadcast the event live from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday
- Peacock will offer extended coverage on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

- Thursday: 1:30 p.m. - 12:10 a.m.
- Friday: 2:00 p.m. - 10:45 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Athletes who finish in the top three of their event will qualify for the World Track & Field Championships, which is to be held in Tokyo, September 13-21, 2025.
