
Lewton Ties For Sixth In Hootie At Bulls Bay

AWENDAW, S.C. - Stephen Lewton shot one stroke under par in each of the last two rounds to lead the NC State men's golf team, finishing one over and tied for sixth place at the Hootie at Bulls Bay tournament. The Wolfpack sandwiched its best round of the season, a five under on the second day at the par 71 Bulls Bay Golf Club, between two 14 over rounds to finish in seventh place.
Darren Blair fired a second round 66, tying for the third best round in school history, and ended up four over and tied for 17th. Jerry Richardson shot even par in the second round and finished tied for 38th at eight over. Garry Hill carded a one over second round, but arrived 11 over at the conclusion of the tournament. Nathan Spoon followed up a two over second round with a five over final round after disqualifying his first round score because he signed an incorrect scorecard.
Wake Forest shot 10 under to win the three-day, 54-hole, 15-team event and Jaime Miller from Augusta State was the individual medalist at nine under. The Wolfpack returns to action next weekend when it travels to Evans, Ga., to compete in the Administaff Augusta State Invitational presented by McCalla Raymer, LLC, April 1-2 at Champions Retreat Golf Club.
