RALEIGH – Led by a performance from senior Jacob McBride that was strong enough to see him tied atop the leaderboard, the NC State men's golf team completed the first day of the annual Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course on campus Monday. Through two rounds of play, the Wolfpack sits in fourth place with a score of 566 (-2).
McBride (134, -8) is tied atop the leaderboard with Timothy Conover from East Carolina. The Wolfpack senior shot a 68 in the first round and followed this up with a 66 in the second, one stroke shy of his career best.
East Carolina leads the tournament with a two-round score of 550 (-18). Kennesaw State is in second place with 555 strokes (-13).

Sophomore Justin Hood had a very strong second round on Monday, shooting a career-low score of 69 (-2). The St. Matthews, S.C., native rebounded from a tough start (two bogies on first four holes) to finish strong, recording pars or birdies on the final 14.
BEST ON PAR THREES
NC State's McBride tied for the best score on par threes during the first two rounds. The senior averaged 2.70 strokes per par three and finished -3 on these holes Monday.
TUESDAY TEE TIMES
NC State's "Red" team will tee off from hole one between 8:45 and 9:21 a.m. Tuesday morning. The Wolfpack's "White" team will tee off from hole ten between 9:30 and 10:06 a.m. Admission is free.
