
Wolfpack Two Under In First Round of Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The NC State men's golf team is two under-par after the opening round of the Puerto Rico Classic, landing the Wolfpack in seventh place in the 18-team field at the Westin Rio Mar par 72, 6,945-yard River Golf Course. Garry Hill and Taylor Crosby are both two-under and tied for 13th, while Banks Wood is one-under and tied for 22nd.
Stephen Lewton carded a three-over score in the first round and Jerry Richardson is six-over after 18 holes.
Second-ranked Georgia fired 10-under in the first round and leads the talented field that features 11 top-30 teams. James Vargas of Florida is in first place individually at seven-under.
The Puerto Rico Classic continues play Monday with a second round of 18 holes and concludes Tuesday with a final round.
