Wolfpack Leads Field at General Jim Hackler Championship

McBride stands alone atop the leaderboard after shooting scores of 70 and 68 to finish the first day with a 138 (-6). Not far behind him was Page, who carded 72 and 68 to end with a score of 140 (-4). Page is tied for second. Page's 68 in the second round ties the best round of his Wolfpack career.
McBride and Page combined for 15 birdies throughout their total four rounds through the Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
David Cooke and James Chapman also had strong rounds on the course, finishing the first day tied for 19th and 24th, respectively. Cooke shot a pair of 73s to end the afternoon with a 146 (+2) while Chapman went 73-74 to finish with a 147 (+3).
Sophomore Stanhope Johnson rounded out the Pack's team portion of the afternoon, shooting 76-77 to end with a 153 (+9). He is currently tied for 60th.
Playing among the seven individual golfers at the competition, senior Colby Lyles is tied for 63rd with a two-round score of 155 (+11). Lyles shot a 78 in the first round and dropped one stroke to card a 77 his second time through the course.
NC State will finish play at the General Jim Hackler Championship with one round on Tuesday. Tee times are set for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Jim Hackler Day One
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Led by very strong performances from Jacob McBride and Carter Page, the NC State men's golf team completed an impressive first day at the 2015 General Jim Hackler Championship on Monday. State shot a two-round score of 571 (-5) to end the day in first place.
